What are web standards?
Web standards are maintained by the W3C. This international body develops open specifications (de facto standards) to enhance the interoperability of web-related products. W3C recommendations are developed by companies such as: Microsoft, Apple, Macromedia and Adobe as well as many others.

Why should I care?
A site that is compliant with web standards (such as this one!), means that it has passed a series of checks which enable it to be accessable to the widest possible audience; whether they are using a web browser, handheld pda, web tv or text only web browser.

How does this increase sales?
With more people able to view and use your site, including potential customers with disabilities, this provides a better service and increased sales.
